About Paul.

Hailing from Nottingham, UK, Paul picked up the classical guitar at an early age, turning to the electric in his teens. After his first gig with his school band, Paul was sure of pursuing a career as a guitar player.

After completing (just!) the Popular Music and Recording Course at University College Salford, Paul found himself immersed in the wonderful Manchester music scene.

After playing and writing with several projects and working as a session musician for artists such as Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate), Lily Allen, Tom Jones, Corinne-Bailey Rae, Joss Stone and many more, Farr decided to start his own band. Ingeniously named, The Paul Farr Band  has been gigging for the last 15 years at  jazz venues and festivals around the country. Their first album Thinking Big features bass maestro Sylvan Richardson, Cinematic Orchestra's drummer Luke Flowers, sax star Andy Schofield and young keyboard player Jamie Safiruddin. The current lineup also now includes Huw Jacob, Paul's lifelong friend.

When not performing with his own band, Paul has the pleasure of being the guitarist for several other projects including The Kyla Brox Band. Kyla has been nominated twice for best British Blues Vocalist and last year was nominated for Best European Blues Vocalist.

With The Paul Farr Band still going strong, Paul is now excited to be releasing his debut album with The Paul Farr Blues Project. The new project will move away from fusion and celebrate Paul's love of pure instrumental blues!
